Psychology and Philosophy

I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Experimental Psychology, with a Tutorial Fellowship at Ï㽶ֱ²¥. I am also an Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. I have been awarded fellowships by the Medical Research Council and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to conduct clinically focused research and co-lead one of the work packages for the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre for the Mental Health in Development theme.

Teaching

I teach and coordinate the 'Individual Differences and Clinical Psychology' Part I core lecture series and co-teach a Part II Advanced Option 'Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology: Development and treatment of child and adolescent anxiety disorders' in the Department of Experimental Psychology.

Research Interests

My research mainly focuses on the development, maintenance, and psychological treatment of anxiety disorders in adolescents. I focus on identifying key maintenance factors within this age group to ultimately develop targeted, developmentally appropriate treatments with optimal outcomes. I use a broad range of methods (including experimental and qualitative methods, clinical trials, and systematic reviews), with adolescents from both clinical and community settings, such as schools. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I co-led the Co-SPACE project, tracking the mental health of children and adolescents over the course of the pandemic.
